Six-seven before the meme
"Greatest Hits" 14: From meaningless to meaning-FULL
This is the fourteenth in a series revisiting insights that have hit me hardest in the last two years.
Six, but seven.
At this writing, the “six-seven” meme seems to be winding down. As far as I can tell, it means nothing—it’s just fun nonsense, or maybe weird annoyance.
But six and seven in the Bible are FULL of meaning; I have written longer pieces about the meaning of six and work, and of seven. Broadly, six and seven symbolize:
creation and rest
work and Sabbath
earth and heaven
human and divine
space and time
square/cube and circle/square
But that’s just a start. Long after those two articles I kept finding new references in the Bible for us to contemplate. Explore, for example:
So…
Draw the image at top: A circle over a square: ‘Seven’ over ‘six.’ Heaven over earth.
Pray:
The heavens are the LORD’s heavens,
but the earth he has given to the children of man. (Psalm 115:16)Coming soon!

Ah, I love it! I'm working on an article for each number now (soon to release number 3), and will be posting about 6 (union and work) and 7 (perfection and rest) later this month!
Just a thought: I totally see what you're saying with 6 + 7 as earth and heaven, but would you say 4 + 3 (earth + heaven) is the stronger association? 4 is just such an earthy number! (& 3 so heavenly, along with 1 of course) Right now I feel 6 & 7 are strongest with work & rest... though I agree there is also a human & rigidity (and thus earthly) association with 6.
